For Supporting the Project of the Society of Transferring Potable Water in Somalia,

In a cooperation between the General Secretariat of Awqaf and the Society of Direct Aid, the Secretariat provided the Society with a sum of 13600 Kuwaiti Dinars in order to support the project of the Society of transferring potable water in Somalia. This project includes establishing 200 water tanks, purchasing tankers and a tank with a capacity of 45 barrels for the relief of the Somali people.

On this occasion, General Director of Direct Aid Society D. Al Sumait expressed his thanks and appreciation to the General Secretariat of Awqaf on the speed of their response and good cooperation in promoting the Kuwaiti charity work around the world, as is its habit, stressing that the Society highly appreciates the confidence accorded by the Secretariat to the Society, and its complete keenness to deliver the aid to those who deserve with full transparency.

Sumait Added that this project effectively contributes to alleviate the great suffering experienced by the people of Somalia under difficult circumstances in the country because of the wars and conflicts that ravaged Somalia and led to the deterioration of conditions in terms of security, living conditions, health, education and other conditions.

D. Sumait concluded, stressing that the Society will do its best in providing people affected in the African continent with every possible aspect.  He directed his thanks and appreciation to the generous donors who contribute to support the Society and trust in its performance via its great achievements over a geographical area covered 30 African countries and within a period of time exceeded 33 years of charitable and humanitarian work.
