The chairman of board of directors of Direct Aid Society, Dr. Abdul Rahman Saleh Al-Muhailan confirmed that the woman is an active and main partner in Kuwaiti charitable work as she plays an important role in constructing Islamic societies.

In a press conference, Al-Muhailan pointed out that Direct Aid will participate in a fair by its works and printings on the sideline of the international conference entitled “The Role of Women in Charitable Work” organized by the International Islamic Charitable Organization under the sponsorship of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait during the period from 15-17 of this December.

Al-Muhailan stressed that Direct Aid, through its works over 30 years in the African continent, is keen on highlighting and promoting the role of women in the African continent and preparing women leader for working in many fields.

Al-Muhailan said: we have annual programs for training African women in all fields in order to contribute to develop their communities. For example, we have many female preachers who work in female communities to spread the true Islamic doctrine among women and to fight against destructive ideas and attempts of westernizing the African Women. Direct Aid has many specialized centers for vocational and technical training for female such as sewing, housekeeping, computers programming … etc in addition to the scholarships provided annually for female students of different educational grades reaching to degrees of master and doctorate in all religious and scientific specializations.

Al-Muhailan added that the idea of the conference is unique for the Islamic world as it is the first international conference being held in the region with the participation of more than 14 national and international organizations and societies. The conference is also attended by a group of scientists, scholars, officials of charitable organizations, preachers and activists in the charitable work aiming at discussing means of promoting and enhancing the role of Muslim women in developing their societies and obtaining a reference documentation that enables her to work in charitable, humanitarian and relief fields in accordance with the Islamic Sharia.
