In its effort to combat blindness on the African continent and Yemen, Direct Aid implemented 10 eye camps in October<\/p>\n
The Director-General of Direct Aid Society Dr Abdullah Abdel-Samet Al-Sumait stated that the camps were implemented in 6 countries: Niger, Chad, Guinea-Bissau, Senegal, Ethiopia and Yemen, and this comes as a commitment from the Direct Aid Society to strive to combat disease in the countries in which it operates, especially eye diseases that It directly affects the weakness of the individual’s production and the stumbling of development in societies when the blind person is unable to work and sometimes he does his personal things, so the rest of the family is committed to it, which affects the education of children or the work of parents to care for the patient.<\/p>\n
He stated that direct aid takes pride in its growing role in combating blindness in the Horn of Africa and Yemen, which has annually become responsible for the return of sight to more than 35,000 people.<\/p>\n
\u201cDuring the current month of October, through its 10 camps, the total number of detection cases amounted to 43,684 beneficiaries. 4,017 surgeries were performed to combat blindness. The camps also included the distribution of glasses to 7,442 patients to correct vision.\u201d<\/p>\n
