Direct Aid has completed necessary preparations to continue with its “Sultans\u2019 pilgrimage” Program launched originally for performing Hajj rituals this year.<\/p>\n
In a statement issued by the Society it pointed out that the program initiated by Direct Aid years ago aims at giving a number of local community and tribal leaders in various African countries the opportunity to perform Hajj.<\/p>\n
The statement also stated that the Society, which was the first to start this activity, has gained considerable experience in executing this Program, especially that is seen as an important tool for the dissemination of Islam through the continent. \u00a0It is known that those local leaders have significant influence on the tribes they head, and can effectively guide tribe members to convert to Islam. \u00a0Hajj, which Muslims see as a journey of faith, is for our brothers in Africa a dramatic change to a whole approach towards life. Consequently, this contributes to the conversion of large numbers of tribe members and local communities to Islam.<\/p>\n
According to the traditions and heritage followed by those communities, when tribe leaders return from Hajj, they tell their stories about the journey to the sacred sites, accurately and in details, a thing which helps in bringing Islam and its rituals closer to the public, and widely open the door for them to convert to Islam. <\/p>\n
The statement emphasized that the studies and statistics have given indications on how such journeys of faith influence communities and various local tribes in different parts of Africa. Statistics have clearly shown how these journeys contribute to the conversion of large numbers to Islam.<\/p>\n
The Society has called all concerned parties to give their support to the Program which significantly contributes to attracting many people to believe in Islam in Africa, noting that the cost of a single Hajj performer ranges between KD1200-1500, according to the countries from where those pilgrims are selected.<\/p>\n
The Direct Aid Society, which is one of few societies implementing the Sultans Pilgrimage program, further confirmed that after the huge success the Program has been able to realize, it has already started with the expansion stage in its implementation. It further noted that the Program has proved to be significantly effective during the past period, assuring that it will definitely exert all efforts to repeat the project each year.<\/p>\n
Within the framework of service development and expansion works undertaken by the Society, and as Eid Al-Adha is approaching, the Society has started receiving Adahi from donors for the year 2011 AD-1432 AH, through its Head Quarters and affiliated branches. It should be noted that the Society provided more than 30 thousand animals (sacrificed animal) last year, with the aim to spread happiness and joy among several members of poor communities in several Islamic countries, especially those which other societies and charities have limited access to.<\/p>\n
The Society said that it, as always, focuses on selecting production and purchasing locations from breeders themselves, and directly to avoid purchasing from markets. This usually guarantees high quality and suitable prices, which in turn best serves the interests of Adahi project and those benefiting from it.<\/p>\n
