With the beginning of the new academic year 2022\/2023, the number of students registered in Direct-Aid universities in Africa has reached more than 15,200 students, in the four universities owned and operated by Direct-Aid in East Africa in different 4 arias (Somalia – Kenya – Zanzibar – Tanzania). The total number of study programs has reached 94, in 25 colleges and institutes within the four Direct-Aid universities, and planning is underway to build the fifth university in the West of the Continent in Benin.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In this context, Direct-Aid founder <\/span>Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sumait<\/span><\/a> – may Allah have mercy on him – said, \u201cHad I know before what I know now, I would have invested only in education\u201d Higher education in Africa has witnessed tremendous growth in the last decades since the independence of African countries. Countries need to find innovative solutions to the great challenges they face in financing higher education, the most important of which is the rapid growth in the number of students due to the noticeable increase in population growth, and increased awareness of the importance of higher education. In addition to the emigration of many academic scholars abroad to search for a better life, which affected the low quality of higher educational programs, as well as the recurring difficulties facing the governments of most African countries affected the volume of government spending on higher education (Al Jazeera Media Network, 2017). Therefore, Direct-Aid established and managed four universities in Africa in different periods of time. They are (<\/span>Simad University in Somalia<\/span><\/a> – <\/span>Ummah University in Kenya<\/span><\/a> – <\/span>Sumait University in Zanzibar<\/span><\/a> – <\/span>Morogoro University in Tanzania<\/span><\/a>), and these universities had a remarkable impact on the surrounding communities. Such universities graduated Ministers, ambassadors, parliamentarians and specialists in various fields. These universities are witnessing continuous positive growth, as the number of study programs in them has reached 94, and 25 colleges and institutes within the four universities, with the total number of graduates has reached about 25,783 students until the current year of (2022). These universities, in addition to their faculties, they have outstanding specialized institutes and centers that serve the community surrounding the university, such as technical institutes, language centers, modern technologies, research and studies centers, in addition to vocational training centers for men and women. For example, <\/span>Simad University<\/span><\/a> in Somalia is obtained ranking the first order for several consecutive years according to the Webometrics Ranking of Universities in Somalia. It is worth noting that Direct-Aid plans to build the fifth university in the west of the continent in the State of Benin, to provide distinguished higher education opportunities for most of the regions in which it operates in Africa and its neighboring regions, in order to provide skilled labor to contribute to meeting the needs of the neediest communities in the continent.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
