In a milestone educational achievement, schools operated by the Direct Aid Society have marked a stellar debut in the 10th season of the prestigious Arab Reading Challenge. The initiative drew massive participation, engaging over 2,200 students across ten African nations.<\/p>\n
The widespread campaign spanned 55 schools in Somalia, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Niger, Rwanda, Uganda, Senegal, Ethiopia, Benin, and Kenya. It forms part of the Society\u2019s core mission to promote the Arabic language, foster a sustainable culture of reading, and sharpen cognitive skills among African youth.<\/p>\n
Far more than standard competition, the initiative rolled out a comprehensive academic framework. This included specialized training workshops, regular reading clubs, and dedicated sessions aimed at critical thinking, text comprehension, and summarization. The Society also launched targeted drives to boost student access to Arabic literature and storytelling resources.<\/p>\n
Following rigorous school-level qualifiers and national eliminations overseen by certified judging panels, 30 top-performing students successfully punched their tickets to the grand finals. These finalists will travel to Dubai to represent their respective countries in the closing ceremonies\u2014marking a triumphant first chapter for the Society in this pioneering pan-Arab cultural project.<\/p>\n
According to the initiative’s final assessment report, the experience yielded significant qualitative gains, visibly enhancing students’ linguistic fluency, public speaking confidence, and self-directed learning habits.<\/p>\n
Looking ahead, Direct Aid aims to build heavily on this momentum.
