Charity is Kuwait Tradition and The Amir is the Humanitarian Leader

Chairman of the board of director of Direct Aid Society, Dr. Abdul Rahman Saleh Al-Muhailan confirmed that the act of honoring His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah by the United Nation Organization represented by its Secretary General Mr. Ban Ki-moon on 24 September is considered a historical event and a remarkable evidence of the Kuwaiti charity and the nature of Kuwaiti people who keep offering aid, charity and love all over the world.

In a press conference, Al-Muhailan expressed his happiness for this occasion saying that “I, on my own behalf and on the behalf of Direct Aid Society express my sincere congratulations and blessings to His highness the Amir of our beloved country for having the title of “Humanitarian Leader””. Al-Muhailan also confirmed that “His Highness deserves such honor as the Amir is a humanitarian leader and his actions witness this fact as the Amir is always there wherever there is any person needs, suffers or complains as a result of war, disaster or persecution”.

Al-Muhailan added that “it is normal for Kuwait to become “global humanitarian center” basing on the UN recognition as Kuwaiti people are well known since old times with their goodness as they always support the needy and those who suffer from any pain or disasters”.

Al-Muhailan said that “Being a Kuwaiti Charity Association, we witness the participation of His Highness in charity and humanitarian work as the Prince white hand, by the grace of God Almighty, reaches the furthest places and he always supports and helps the poor and the needy whatever being near or far to the extent that his support reaches to those who live in the jungles of Africa. We, the Direct Aid Society, are proud of him and of his continuous support for the charitable projects carried out by the association in 30 African Countries.

He concludes expressing his praise for the leading role of Kuwaiti charitable work through long decades of partnership and cooperation with association and international organizations such as the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and other national and international associations working in the humanitarian field.
