The Direct Aid Office in the State of Sierra Leone has graduated 200 preachers through the program of preparing village imams, providing them with Islamic sciences and developing their skills in dealing with social platforms and platforms in various villages. The Awareness Department aims to expand the experiences of preachers in the educational and advocacy field through cooperation with awareness departments for direct aid in other countries. The program aims to graduate fifty imams from the targeted villages and regions, and it takes 28 days to distribute among direct aid centres in Sierra Leone, namely: Bilal Center – Musab Omair Center – Ammar Bin Yasir Center – Zaid Bin Haritha Center.
It is worth noting that the state of Sierra Leone suffers from economic deterioration and a low level of per capita income. In addition to its suffering in the educational aspect, and the state enjoys a high percentage of Muslims, ranging between 60-70% of its population. However, there is a continuous decline in the percentage of Muslims due to the spread of ignorance and superstitions, Therefore, Direct Aid seeks, through a select group of programs and activities, to raise the level of moral awareness and spread the tolerant teachings of Islam, and to stay away from superstitions and ignorance. Direct Aid also seeks to conduct programs for preparing and graduating full-time preachers and imams throughout the year, to carry out many awareness activities, memorize the Noble Qur’an, and deliver Shari’ah lessons, and to ensure the quality and continuity of awareness activities. The preacher is required to pass the acceptance test, be of good conduct, and have activity and advocacy enthusiasm.
