Direct Aid is celebrating of its universities’ graduates – Ummah University in Kenya

Dr. Abdulrahman Alsumait – the founder of DirectAid, may Allah have mercy on him – says: “Had I known beforehand what I have come to know later, I would have invested only in education.”

Among his wishes in the State of Kenya was to establish an Islamic university to be an inspiration of science and morals. Fortunately, in 2013 the first college of Islamic studies was established and later on it became a university and obtained the official approval from the Presidential Excellency of the Kenyan Republic. Hence, it has been called “Ummah University” and became the first Islamic University with an official recognition in Kenya.

Mrs. Nusaybah Alsumait – Director of Public Relation and Marketing Department at DirectAid Society – has stated that Ummah University witnessed on 22 June. 2021 the fourth convocation to honor 651 graduate students bringing the total number of university graduates to 2,591. They conveyed in their hands and on their shoulders all the good deeds for themselves, their families and their nation in order to be among the highest nations around the world.

The graduates consist of several specializations as 230 students graduated from professional certificate specializations, and 253 students from various diplomas, as well as 166 students from different bachelors, and few students from master’s degree. The number of male and female graduates was 58% and 42 % in a row. And the largest graduates was from Business and Technology College at 74% of the total graduates.

Alsumait also confirmed that the university was able during the lockdown of Covid 19 pandemic to continue its journey of sharing knowledge of publishing academic and industry researches, and it continue participating in conferences via various virtual platforms. The university also signed a joint memorandum of understanding with the International University of Khartoum, in addition to signing several agreements with some local universities and intermediate education institutes. In order to keep moving in achieving its main mission of providing the community with academic leaders and talented students and graduates.
