During the first days of Ramadan, Direct Aid launched projects to provide food baskets to the poorest communities in Africa, 30 Kuwaiti dinars baskets for iftar to a full family throughout the holy month of Ramadan. The association also launched a participatory project between families and friends called “Iftarna Wahid (in Arabic = meaning our iftar meal is one” for 10 families in Africa throughout the holy month worth 300 dinars.
It is worth mentioning that the total iftar meals (fasting meal break) projects implemented by Direct Aid from the association’s early beginnings to 2023 reached more than 41 million dry and cooked meals.
Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sumait says: I still remember one of the poor people when he said, “Once I see iftar meals, I forget all the hunger and thirst I experienced in this holy month, because I don’t have the money to buy an iftar meal, and then he raised his hands with prayers for all those who contributed to getting this iftar meals to them.
