Direct Aid works to improve education in Africa by establishing and running schools and providing students with books and curriculum materials. Currently, they have 318 schools serving kindergarten to secondary school students. In the first semester of 2022 alone, they distributed 344,060 textbooks to students. In addition, they provide school bags and supplies to 110,000 students at the beginning of each academic year in an effort to reduce dropout rates in primary schools. Unfortunately, many young people in Africa still lack basic reading and writing skills, with one in four unable to read or write. Through their educational initiatives, Direct Aid aims to give students the tools they need to succeed in their future lives.
