As soon as the flood disaster in Sudan occurred, and the damage expanded and caused the displacement of hundreds of thousands of people, until the Direct Aid Association, which is based on a long relief experience, rushed to conduct a comprehensive and urgent survey of the needs necessary for the relief of those affected, and began coordination with the organizations and official authorities in the affected areas that were flooded with water. For direct aid to conduct a large relief convoy for those affected by the floods and rains in the Tamaniyat, Izirqab, and Kadro regions in Bahri locality, while it continues to distribute food and shelter relief materials in Jabal Awliya locality and the affected areas in the different governorates

Abdullah Al-Sumait, Director General of Direct Aid Society, said that the relief provided to those affected by the floods targeted 35,000 beneficiaries in the different states of Sudan during the first two days, and it comes as an extension of previous reliefs carried out by Direct Aid in different states to reduce the damage from those affected.
He expressed his hope that the relief provided and will be provided by the Direct Aid Society in the coming days and weeks will contribute to alleviating the suffering of those affected.
The Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid in Khartoum State, Mustafa Adam, said that the State of Kuwait has remained an incubator and a source of good and a pioneer for the relief of those affected through the Direct Aid Society. He praised the Kuwaiti rapid intervention to help those affected by the floods, and said that the Direct Aid Society’s relief for those affected by the floods with food baskets includes a very large number of requirements, which are support for those affected by floods and rains, and we thank the philanthropists who came to help those affected by the rains, torrents and floods for their great support that reached directly to the beneficiary victims. He pointed out that the Direct Aid Society is one of the most contributing organizations in terms of the number of beneficiaries, as it provided the urgent needs imposed by the flood conditions.
It is worth noting that Direct Aid is one of the oldest associations in Sudan, as it has been working since 1984 in the fields of education, water, health and caring for orphans in addition to income-generating projects for women to help alleviate the economic hardship. During the period of its work, Direct Aid succeeded in building many educational institutions, institutions, health and social centers, digging artesian wells, as well as providing relief to those affected by various natural disasters in Sudan.
