His Highness Visits Direct Aid Society Section in the Heritage Village

His Highness Amir of the State Sheikh SabahAl-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah “The humanitarian leader” – May Allah Protects Him – praised and spoke highly of the efforts of Direct Aid Society and recalled its founder Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sumait- May Allah Have MercyUpon Him – with all the best. Through a parental advice, His Highness urgedDr. Abdullah Al Sumait, The General Manager ofDirect Aid Society, andall workers in theDirect Aid to follow thesamefootsteps ofDr. AbdurahmanAl-Sumait.

Such event was happened during the visit of His Highness The Amir – May Allah Protects Him – and his accompanying delegation to Direct Aid Society section in the Gulf Popular Tradition Festival which is currently taking place in the Heritage Village in Salmy area where The General Manager of Direct Aid Society Dr. Abdullah Abdulrahman Al-Sumait and number of officials of the society were honored by receiving His Highness. Dr. Al-Sumait has presented to His Highness a commemorative present of the African handmade art as the present is a collection of therare archaeological harpoons studded with stones as His Highness has admired such present too much.

During the visit, High Highness – May Allah Protects Him – was accompanied by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah – May Allah Protects Him, His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, The Prime Minister, the Deputy Chief of National Guard Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and a number of Ministers and dignitaries.

Direct Aid Society participates in the Heritage Festival through holding a private exhibition about history of Kuwaiti humanitarian and charitable work in Africa through which Direct Aid provides a group of selective pictures that reflex the society’s activities and its work in the African continent for more than 30 years. In addition, Direct Aid participates with a lot of holdings, antiques and handicrafts of the African art as well as a group of personal belongings of Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sumait – May Allah Have Mercy Upon Him – the founder of Direct Aid Society and one of the leaders of Kuwaiti charitable work.

Direct Aid also distributes, through its exhibition in the festival, a group of its printings for the last three years among which Al-Kawthar magazine which was founded and headed by Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sumait – May Allah Have Mercy Upon Him – and a number of his personal writings in addition to reports for the most charitable projects implemented by the society and come within its strategic priorities among which education, health and water projects. Direct Aid will also present videos including a number of African Folk Art acted by a group of orphans whom are sponsored by Direct Aid in addition to shows presented by the scouts of the society students in Africa. Moreover, Direct Aid presents photos for the African continent showing its offices deployed in more than 30 countries in addition to its administrative branches in Kuwait.

It is noteworthy that His Highness the Amir “the humanitarian leader” pays a great attention to charitable work as Kuwait is considered a center and platform for the humanitarian work according to the recognition of The International Community and United Nations. Furthermore, the charitable work is an integral part of the generous Kuwaiti people tradition.
