Simad University in Somalia, under Direct Aid Association, held on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023, a ceremony honoring the graduation of the 19th batch of 700 male and female students from the university for the year of 2022-2023, in the presence of the Director of the Direct Aid Office in Somalia and the Director of Simad University.

Dr. Abdullah AbdulRahman AlSumait, Director General Manager of Direct Aid Association,
stated that the number of graduates from the university since its establishment in 2000, and until now (2023) is more than 7,000 male and female students, and Dr. Abdullah Al-Sumait confirmed that the university has reached a number of 30 academic programs, distributed in 8 colleges, and is currently teaching about 4,500 students in various majors such as Administrations, Social Sciences, Computer and Information Technology, Law and Economics, in addition to the College of Engineering, Medicine and Education.

It is worth noting that Simad University was ranked #1 in Somalia for two consecutive years 2020-2021 according to the Webometrics rankings of world universities. Simed University is also distinguished for having Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sumait’s Hospital, a language center and a business center for training entrepreneurs in Somalia. The university also offers academic programs for postgraduate studies.
