In a formal ceremony reflecting strong partnership and mutual appreciation, the Embassy of the Republic of Sudan in Kigali, Rwanda, held an official meeting with the Direct Aid team from its Rwanda office. The event was attended by His Excellency the Ambassador and the Consul and aimed to honor Direct Aid’s significant contributions to supporting Sudanese refugees residing in Mahama Camp, located in Kirehe District, during the holy month of Ramadan and through subsequent relief activities.

The meeting focused on exploring avenues to enhance cooperation between the Embassy and Direct Aid, as well as coordinating future initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of Sudanese refugees in Rwanda, particularly in light of the ongoing humanitarian and socioeconomic challenges they face.

Expressing gratitude, the Direct Aid team thanked the Sudanese Embassy for its steadfast support and facilitation of official and operational coordination. They emphasized the importance of maintaining and expanding this collaboration to better serve the most vulnerable populations.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Embassy presented certificates of appreciation to the Direct Aid team, recognizing their pioneering role in community service and dedicated assistance to Sudanese refugees, especially during a period marked by reduced international funding.

This recognition underscores the high level of trust in Direct Aid’s work and reaffirms the organization’s ongoing commitment to humanitarian service and solidarity.
