The Umma University, affiliated with the Direct Aid association in Kenya, celebrated the graduation of its sixth batch at the beginning of July, with a total of 239 graduates from various disciplines. The university has now graduated a total of 4,839 university students since its establishment.

Noseiba Al-Sumait, Director of Marketing, Public Relations, and Media Relations at Direct Aid, stated that the current number of students at the university is approximately 2,291, pursuing various specializations within 26 academic programs offered by six faculties at the university. She also confirmed that the number of graduates had reached about 4,839 graduates in the middle of the current year (2023).

It is worth noting that the Umma University in Kenya was the dream of its founder, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sumait, may he rest in peace, to meet the educational needs of Muslims in Kenya and neighboring countries in the Horn of Africa. The university was founded in 1997 as a college of Sharia and Islamic Studies and was later transformed into the Umma University in 2008, becoming the first private Islamic university in Kenya.
